Once your footer contains links, you can control how they are arranged, how the text line and logo sit relative to them, and how much room everything gets. All of these options are on the Theme > Footer tab. See How to add a footer to your stories for how to set up the footer and its links.
Arranging Links in Rows or Columns
The Link arrangement option controls how groups are displayed on desktop:
In rows – Each group forms one row with its heading on the left and its links listed next to it. The links of all groups line up behind the longest heading.
In columns – Groups appear side by side as columns of equal width with the heading above the links. Up to four columns fit into one row, further groups wrap to the next row with the columns distributed evenly. Six groups, for example, are displayed as two rows of three columns.
On narrow screens, the links of a group are always listed below each other. Groups follow one another in the rows arrangement, while the columns arrangement displays two columns side by side.
The Link separator option puts a character between links that sit next to each other. You can choose none, a slash, or a pipe. Since links only sit next to each other in the rows arrangement, the separator has no effect in columns.
Positioning the Text Line and Logo
The Layout option controls where the text line and the logo appear relative to the links:
Text line next to links/Logo above – The logo sits above the links, and the text line next to them.
Text line below links/Logo right – The logo sits to the right of the links, and the text line below them.
Adjusting Spacing
The Spacing option offers three variants – Tight, Medium, and Loose – that scale the whole footer at once: the space between links, the space between groups, and the gutters between columns. Choose a looser variant to give a footer with many links and groups more room to breathe.
